Special recognition for Liam Britton

Recognising the achievements of our team members is very important to everyone at Phoenix Consortia, which is why we wanted to take the opportunity to give a special shoutout to Liam.

Liam who is always happy to help went the extra mile to build the confidence of one of our autistic learners who had completed the bricklaying pathway but realised the working site environment wasn’t going to be right for him or his needs, leaving him difficult to know what route to next take.

The situation was explained to Liam, and he was happy to support the lad giving him a taster day on the yard.

The difference after a day on the yard was amazing, the lad was smiling and chatty and Liam gave great feedback to his dad – offering a few more voluntary days to keep his confidence up.

He appears much more optimistic about the future as do his parents – and they couldn’t have achieved this with him if Liam hadn’t of given him the chance.

Liam has really made a difference for this young man and his family. Well done, Liam!
