At Phoenix Consortia, we are committed to developing future generations of roofers through apprenticeships.
Apprentices make up 10% of the Phoenix Consortia team, and with National Apprenticeship Week taking place during February we wanted to highlight the fantastic impact they have on our business.
Apprentices bring fresh ideas, new thoughts and actively embrace technology and are an integral part of our business, both now and in the future.
The theme for National Apprenticeship Week 2023 was ‘Skills for Life’. The week reflected on how apprenticeships can help individuals to develop the skills and knowledge required for a rewarding career and help businesses to develop a talented workforce that is equipped with skills for the future.
It brought together businesses and apprentices across the country to shine a light on the positive impact that apprenticeships have on individuals, businesses, and the wider economy.
As part of our celebration of National Apprenticeship Week, we wanted to shine a light on two of our recent apprentices – Tim Morris and Louis Fahey.
Louis Fahey is a second-year Roofing apprentice working towards his Level 2 in Waterproofing and is close to entering the end-point assessment phase of this. Gaining most of his experience in felt, Louis has developed his skills substantially over the last 12 months and is always eager and willing to learn and works well as part of a team.
Louis has obtained some excellent experience most recently working on a large project at Mansfield Shopping Centre and was recently named winner of the Rising Star Award at our 2022 End of Year Awards.

Tim has recently completed his apprenticeship in Roof Slating and Tiling. He was a standout student throughout his apprenticeship.
He excelled during his time on the Juniper Construction pathway course and has since gained a wealth of experience on-site and is always willing to learn and develop his skills.
Most recently he has completed his PASMA and LPAF qualifications, and he has now been assigned a cherry picker to assist with the maintenance and roofing requirements of our valued clients.
Tim was named not just Apprentice of the month and employee of the month, but he also won the Rising Star Award at the SPV Training/ Juniper Training celebrating success awards and won Apprentice of the Year at the 2022 SPV End of Year Awards.

Both have been standout students and employees throughout their time with us, developing their skillset and always showing a willingness to learn. We’re proud to support them through their journey. Discover more about how we support the next generation of roofers on our dedicated training website.
