Iceland’s CEO climbs Mount Everest
We have made a substantial donation to support Iceland CEO Richard Walker ahead of his climb of Mount Everest in aid of Iceland Foods Charitable Foundation (IFCF).
Richard is attempting to raise over £1 million to support people with rare dementias as part of the 50th anniversary of the IFCF.
The money will go towards creating the world’s first Rare Dementia Support Centre for those living with inherited, atypical and young-onset dementia and their families.
This is the second time he will climb Everest. However, this time he will be joined by leading mountaineer Kenton Cool. The pair aim to reach the summit in just three weeks rather than the three months typical for most expeditions.

Our valeter Pete’s charity endeavours
Pete has been fundraising for Birmingham Children’s Hospital alongside his wife after their son Presley received treatment for serious health issues in the early months of his life.
Thankfully he is on the mend now and his parents have raised more than £15,000 in the last year.
We are proud to support Pete’s fantastic efforts, offering our Walsall box as a prize for a charity raffle and donating to their wonderful cause.

Engaging with the local community
At Phoenix, we actively engage with local schools to promote opportunities in the industry including our training provision.
Most recently, we attended a careers event at Saint Francis of Assisi and had a great day engaging with students about careers in the roofing industry.
We also proudly sponsor two local football teams and have arranged a match day package for their youth team to attend an upcoming Walsall football club match and we flag bearers before kick-off.
We are pleased to offer our box at Walsall FC to Juniper Training as a prize for the standout students from the football and education scholarship they offer.
