Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) is a necessity that shapes the future of our business as well as the industry.
SPV Special Projects have recently signed the CIOB D&I Charter affirming our commitment to an inclusive industry and to help drive positive change across construction.
Signing the CIOB D&I Charter shows our commitment to an inclusive industry and helps drive positive change across construction.
According to recent stats, of all construction staff in the UK: only 14% are women, with up to 2% in on-site roles; only 6% are from Black, Asian or other ethnic minorities; and only 6% declare a disability
A diverse team brings different perspectives, which leads to more creative solutions and better decision-making. Roofing projects often require on-the-spot problem solving—having people from different backgrounds and perspectives is essential.
Embracing EDI helps attract and fresh talent from underrepresented groups, including women, ethnic minorities, and younger generations who value inclusive workplaces as well as retaining those valued employees we have within the business.
Inclusion to us means creating an environment where everyone feels safe, respected, and valued.
The roofing sector has traditionally lacked diversity and by committing to EDI, we aren’t just improving their own culture—we are helping reshape the industry for future generations.
