SPV Special Projects Ltd have recently completed the over sheeting works at Bedford Rugby Club to the club’s main stand.
Bedford Blues are a rugby union club in the town of Bedford, England, currently playing in The RFU Championship. Bedford is one of the few towns in England where the rugby club is better supported than the football team.
The Blues are a semi-pro team, with a mix of experienced and young players. Bedford RUFC was founded in 1886 after an amalgamation between Bedford Rovers (1876) and Bedford Swifts (1882).
Our remit involved netting the roof prior to the works commencing followed by a full asbestos strip by a licensed contractor.
We then installed new Solent Blue cladding sheets to the roof to complement the rugby club’s branding as well as new timber purlins. Air monitoring was undertaken on-site following an asbestos strip to determine if the air was safe or contained asbestos fibres and reference Oracle Solutions as the licensed asbestos contractor.

The client was extremely pleased with the delivery commenting.
“I just wanted to ask you to convey our thanks to your team of guys and other sub-contractors for the quick turn-around at such short notice and for all your help throughout the project, apparently everyone at the rugby club are saying how good it looks, especially in comparison to what it was.”
