Busy Bees Nursery in Cheadle has recently undergone a comprehensive roofing and cladding renovation, expertly delivered by SPV Special Projects Ltd.
The project was completed for our Client, Innovex Group, ensuring the nursery benefited from a durable, weather-resistant, and high-performance roofing system.
Scope of Works
The works included essential repairs, insulation upgrades, and protective layering across multiple roofs, guaranteeing long-term durability. The scope covered:
- Roofing works – Blister repairs, insulation installation, and a two-layer bituminous felt system.
- Drainage improvements – Adjustments to rainwater pipes and chute outlets for optimized water flow.
- External cladding – Galvanized steel framework and coated steel sheets for a refreshed, modern finish.
To maintain a safe working environment, a fenced compound was established for equipment and welfare facilities, including scaffolding and access provisions in line with safety regulations.
Challenges & Solutions
One of the key challenges was managing the project in a public space while ensuring minimal disruption to the nursery’s operations. SPV Special Projects Ltd coordinated with local authorities to secure permits and strategically planned logistics to keep the site safe and efficient. Apprentices were also involved, gaining valuable hands-on experience in large-scale over-cladding projects.
