Phoenix Consortia have recently completed the refurbishment works alongside Capital Shopfitting at the new Food Warehouse at the Ashford Retail Park in Sevington, for our valued client Iceland Frozen Foods.
The shop will be the 6th Food Warehouse in Kent. A brand launched in 2014 by Iceland Frozen Foods and the new store will see 40 local jobs created.
Our work featured a new overclad roof, alongside new cladding to the front of the building to create a shopfront.
The specification involved was the SIG Gemello Revive Warrantied Over Clad System. The Gemello Revive is a comprehensive roof and wall overcladding system with a 25-year warranty.
It provides enhanced thermal performance to the building, enhanced acoustic performance, reduced operating costs through better insulation, increased building service life and cleaner, modern lines to elevations and roofs.
The project involved several challenges for our team, including unusual hip end details, adverse weather conditions, including heavy rain and wind, and tight timescales.
The roof over the mezzanine needed to be completed within a week to avoid any internal issues.
The front of the store, where the new shopfront was installed, complete with signage, entrance and curtain walling, needed to be restructured with galvanised steel to accommodate the storefront.
Our teams worked closely with Capital Shopfitting throughout the project to ensure effective and efficient delivery of the works ready for the store opening.
We had apprentices on-site during the works who gained valuable experience working on a large-scale overcladding project. All works were completed within the agreed timescales and to the pre-agreed budgets.
