Howard Evans Roofing have recently completed the roofing works at Crowne Plaza to fit the new rooflights over the public areas to the rear of the hotel.

The Foreman liaised with the Hotel daily to advise cordoning off of work areas and works to be undertaken so as to cause as little disruption to the Hotel as possible.

Our remit involved the installation of a Naturalight Naturalspan Barrel vault with upvc upstand. The naturalspan system is a thermally broken, extruded aluminium glazing bar arrangement incorporating a typical mullion and transform assembly with an internal water management system with condensation channels to the lower cill edges of the glazing frame. This system is capable of spanning an infinite length and can also be designed to span great distances unsupported.

Glazing is secured in place using a pressure plate system that is secured to the glazing bars and finished using an extruded capping piece.

All works were completed within agreed time scales, all agreed budgets and with minimal disruption to the Hotel throughout the project.

“Just a brief note to let you know how happy we are with the works undertaken to fit the new roof lights over our public areas at Crowne Plaza Nottingham.”

The quality of the work, the competitive cost and the excellent daily communication from the team keeping the Hotel updated on areas that needed to be closed off and then returning the areas prompt and clean, was great.

There was very little disruption to the Hotel given the size and scale of the project – and we would do it again in a heartbeat, given the huge improvement it has given this area.

Thank you to the team for a job very well done.
