Client: Telford International Centre
Situated in the heart of Shropshire, the centre boasts over 15,000 square metres of flexible space that transforms to suit a wide range of functions, from business conferences to exhibitions and sporting events.

For this project, Howard Evans was tasked with refurbishing Hall 3, a key part of the centre, while ensuring minimal disruption to the day-to-day operations.

Despite the hall remaining in use, the team expertly coordinated the works, using scaffolding and edge protection to ensure safe access. Daily communication with the staff and weekend scheduling helped keep everything running smoothly.

The scope of work involved stripping and resheeting the roof of Hall 3. The old materials were replaced with upgraded insulation and new 0.7 plastisol roof panels. The roof was then closed off with flashings, capping’s, and the appropriate seals.

As part of the refurbishment, the team also sheeted over and flat-plated redundant vents, giving the roof a cleaner and more efficient design. Additionally, the valley gutters were treated with a Proteus liquid coating system to provide waterproofing, ensuring long-lasting protection.

Throughout the project, several team members benefited from a specialised training day on the Proteus system, ensuring they were fully qualified and confident in the installation.

Howard Evans handled all material logistics, utilising their in-house Hiab crane lorry for smooth delivery and rubbish removal. The project was completed within budget, two weeks ahead of schedule.

All work carried out is backed by a full warranty, ensuring peace of mind for the client.
